Amendment 85B to the Health and Care Bill would require the Government to consult on a statutory polluter-pays scheme. These measures would mean tobacco manufacturers will help fund measures to reduce smoking prevalence and improve public health . The amendment would mean taking action to help people live longer and more healthily, with fewer families living in poverty because of smoking.
