Lord Speaker Norman Fowler to retire from that role end of April. He has been brilliant. I look forward to him becoming an independent peer pursuing causes such as fighting HIV and prejudice against LGBT+ @LordSpeaker @UKHouseofLords @LibDemLords @PinkNews @LizBarkerLords

Ministers keep ducking questions. Why can they not publish advice which, if they have it, would show that they are acting in the interests of public health rather than the Conservative Party? Perhaps they don’t have it? @UnlockDemocracy @ALDC @LibDems @libdemlocalgov

@LibDemLords @PTylerLords I asked if he can refute the view that “Government advice” about campaigning was issued for political rather than health reasons. He avoids this by saying that advice was given about the “delivery plan” for the conduct of the elections, but can’t say this about “campaign advice”

@mattforde @craigharrow His last text to me was just before polling day to say that he knew he wouldn’t win again. He had grace, dignity & decency as well as humour that he brought to politics. The organised hatred directed at him by twitter pile ons was disgraceful harassment politics could do without
